What we do
How we build your outdoor padel court
At CourtForge, we make the process simple, clear and professionally managed from start to finish. Whether you are a school, gym, sports club, hotel, leisure site or private landowner, we guide you through every stage of the project.

Initial Enquiry
The process starts with a conversation about your site, goals and budget.
We will discuss:
Your available space, whether the court will be indoor or outdoor, how many courts you are considering, access for machinery, your target users and the type of finish you want.
This helps us understand whether your site is suitable and what type of padel court installation would work best.
Site Assessment
Before any build begins, the site needs to be properly assessed.
We look at:
Ground conditions, levels, drainage, access, surrounding buildings, trees, existing surfaces, planning considerations and the best position for the court.
A standard padel court playing area is 20m x 10m, but extra space is needed around the court for foundations, access, maintenance and installation.

Design and Specification
Once we understand your site, we prepare a suitable court specification.
This may include:
Court position, base construction, drainage requirements, steel and glass enclosure, artificial turf, lighting, access gates, colour choices and optional extras.
Our aim is to design a court that looks professional, performs properly and is built for long-term use.
Planning Permission
Most padel courts require planning permission due to the height of the glass and mesh, as well as the use of floodlights, and the potential for increased traffic and other factors.
Here at CourtForge, we manage the whole planning application, making it as easy as possible for you, the customer.

Ground Preparation
The first stage on site is preparing the ground.
This usually includes:
Clearing the area, excavating to the required depth, levelling the formation, removing unsuitable material and preparing the site for the court base.
Good preparation is essential. A padel court is only as strong and reliable as the base underneath it.
Drainage and Sub-Base
For outdoor courts, drainage is a key part of the build.
A typical outdoor base may include:
A geotextile membrane, compacted free-draining stone such as MOT Type 3, perimeter drainage and a carefully levelled sub-base.
This helps water move away from the court and reduces the risk of puddling, movement or long-term surface issues.

Concrete Foundations and Ring Beam
The glass, steel frame and fencing need proper structural support.
We install or arrange suitable concrete foundations, usually including a perimeter ring beam or pad foundations depending on the court design and ground conditions.
This gives the court structure a strong, accurate fixing point and helps keep the enclosure secure and square.
Porous Asphalt or Sports Base
Once the sub-base and foundations are ready, the playing base is installed.
For many outdoor courts, this involves a porous asphalt layer laid to accurate levels. This creates a firm, smooth and free-draining surface ready for the artificial turf.
Accuracy matters at this stage because the base affects drainage, ball bounce, playing quality and the final appearance of the court.

Steel Frame and Glass Installation
The padel court structure is then installed.
This includes:
Steel posts, mesh panels, toughened glass walls, gates, fixings and structural components.
The frame and glass must be installed carefully and accurately, using proper lifting, setting-out and fixing equipment.
Artificial Turf and Net Installation
Once the court enclosure is in place, the playing surface is laid.
This normally includes:
Padel-specific artificial turf, line markings, joining, trimming, sand infill and brushing.
The surface is finished to create the correct playing feel, grip and ball response.
Then the net can be installed and tentioned.

Lighting and Accessories
If required, we can include lighting and court accessories.
This may include:
Floodlights, access gates, benches, scoreboards, branding panels and finishing details.
Electrical works are carried out or connected by suitably qualified professionals where required.
Final Checks and Handover
Before handover, the court is checked and finished.
We review:
Court levels, glass and frame installation, gate operation, net tension, turf finish, sand distribution, drainage performance and overall presentation.
Once complete, we hand the court over ready for use.

Aftercare and Support
A padel court needs the right maintenance to stay looking and playing well.
We can advise on:
Brushing, sand levels, cleaning, glass care, drainage checks, general inspections and ongoing maintenance.
Our goal is to make sure your court continues to perform long after installation.
