Learning how to build padel courts is not simply a matter of choosing a steel frame and artificial turf. The commercial outcome depends on site suitability, drainage, accurate levels, planning, access and a specification capable of standing up to daily play in British weather.
For schools, clubs, leisure operators, hotels and local authorities, the strongest projects begin with a clear view of both construction risk and operational return. A court that looks good at handover but suffers from standing water, uneven playing conditions or premature corrosion will cost more over its lifetime and can damage customer confidence. Start with the site, not the court catalogue
The first decision is whether the proposed area can properly accommodate a court and the work needed to support it. A standard padel court playing area is 20 metres by 10 metres, but the required footprint is larger once the structure, access routes, maintenance space, gates and surrounding circulation are included. Where spectators, seating or a booking reception are planned, the site requirement increases again.

Revenue forecasts should be grounded in realistic opening hours, local demand, pricing, staffing and maintenance. Court quality, availability, programming and promotion all affect performance.
Maintenance is straightforward when the court has been specified and installed correctly, but it is not optional. Regular brushing, infill checks where relevant, debris removal, glass inspection and lighting checks protect play quality and preserve the asset. A clear maintenance plan should be agreed at handover, along with warranty information, operating guidance and a process for reporting issues.
